What the team can help you understand
A notice, a court order or a bundle of papers can be difficult to make sense of. Our pro bono team considers requests for a free initial review of relevant documents and evidence. The aim is to help you understand the immediate issue, the papers that matter and what needs further attention.
The team works through The Justice Law Partners. Please use the firm’s contact process so that the office can confirm whether it can assist.
What is free?
There are no professional fees for an initial review the firm has agreed to accept. Before you send papers, the office must confirm that it can consider the request and what the review will cover.
An initial review is not the same as accepting your case. It does not automatically include drafting a notice or petition, filing proceedings, attending court or paying court fees and other expenses. Any further assistance must be agreed separately.
How to ask for a review
- Complete the initial-review request form below.
- Briefly explain the problem, why you need free assistance, and whether a case is already pending.
- State any hearing date, reply date or filing deadline clearly.
- Wait for the office to confirm the scope and a suitable way to share documents.
Do not send confidential evidence, identity documents or financial records in an Instagram message or public comment. Keep original papers safe. Sending an enquiry does not confirm that the firm has accepted instructions or agreed to represent you.
If time is running out
Tell the office about the deadline first. Do not wait for an online response where a hearing or filing date is close. A request for free review does not extend a deadline or stop an order from taking effect.
Looking for legal aid through a public authority?
Our pro bono service is independent of NALSA, DSLSA and other legal services authorities. Applying here is not an application to those authorities, and you do not need to contact our firm to apply to them.

Important: This information is not individual legal advice or a promise of representation or any particular result. The firm must confirm acceptance and scope before an initial review begins.
